Thanks to Minnesota's free school meals law, every student receives one complete breakfast and one complete lunch each school day at no cost. A student may ask for a second meal or to purchase an a la carte item, but they are charged for those items.

Second lunches cost $5 and if students just have a second entree, that costs $3.50. If students don't have money in their accounts, they cannot get a second lunch or an additional entree.

Please visit the Minneapolis Public Schools Culinary & Wellness website to see costs for meals (on the left side) or to set up or check the balance on your student's account (right side - click on "LINQ Connect").

Caregivers can put limits on their child's spending in the LINQ system. For example, if you set a limit of $3 for lunch, then we won't sell your child a second lunch. To set this limit, click on the 3 lines on the top left, choose "Meal Acccount" and then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "add" in the "purchase limits section." You can also send a check to school with your child. The check can be made out to Minneapolis Public Schools, and please put "Lunch Account" + the name of your child on the memo line.

If your family needs support to put money in your child's account, please email our social worker here: Becky.Wood@mpls.k12.mn.us.

MPS offers transportation to students within our attendance zone. To find out more about transportation & bussing, click on the school bus icon above.

If you have questions about your Burroughs bus route, you can reach out to our transportation coordinator here: Abby.Spanier@mpls.k12.mn.us

Note that transportation is a privilege, not a right. If students have repeated unsafe behaviors on school buses, then they could face a bus suspension of one or more days.
